PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — A security guard died after being shot at an Oregon hospital Saturday, and the suspect was later killed by police in a nearby community, authorities said.Police responded to reports that a person with at least one firearm fired shots inside Legacy Good Samaritan Medical Center in Portland, the Portland Police Bureau said in a statement. Arriving officers searched for the shooter while working with hospital staff to treat the guard, who was transferred to another facility, where he later died.Police from various agencies later tracked the suspect’s vehicle to nearby Gresham, located about 15 miles (24 kilometers) east of Portland, where the vehicle was stopped. Officers shot and killed the suspect, and no police officers were injured, the release said. The suspect’s name has not been released. WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) — Officials responded to a large grass fire between Georgetown and Jarrell in Williamson County. The Texas A&M Forest Service responded to the fire, named the Cobb Creek Fire, and estimated the fire is about 286 acres and is 100% contained Saturday, according to the Texas A&M Forest service.The forest service initially estimated the fire to be about 100 acres on Wednesday but said in an updated tweet Thursday morning that it was an estimated 500 acres. The service said the increase in acreage is a result of more accurate mapping. "Aviation and ground crews are making good progress," the Texas A&M Forest Service wrote on social media.The grass fire started Wednesday afternoon at 1001 Cobb Creek Road shortly after 4:30 p.m., according to a news release from Williamson County. One person was killed and seven others were hospitalized after a multi-vehicle crash in Calabasas on Saturday night.Emergency crews responded to a reported three-vehicle crash with entrapment near Las Virgenes and Lost Hills Roads around 5:54 p.m., according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.When crews arrived, one person was found dead at the scene.
